The Confidante in Miami Beach is the perfect location for a private Miami wedding with an eclectic style all its own!

Kelly and Rob chose a late April date for their wedding and knew they wanted everything to happen on site at The Confidante. The boutique hotel is situated in the heart of Miami Beach, and has a separate guest entrance and a backyard complete with grass and a fountain, so it feels like you’re inviting your friends to your house!

From our initial consolation, I could tell I was going to like this couple. Kelly and Rob liked to have fun. The adjectives they used to describe their relationship were: funny, candid, and playful. Kelly was upfront about her anxiety with completing the planning process and realizing that she needed someone to be just as Type A as her. Insert me. Kelly and Rob wanted their wedding to be a party, with tons of music and fun drinks, and I could see just how excited they were to be marrying each other. We interrupt this paragraph to shout from the rooftops that THESE ARE OUR IDEAL CLIENTS! With Kelly and Rob’s trust, we got right to work planning their Confidante wedding!

The day started with Kelly and her girls in the gorgeous Carmen Miranda suite where Dua Lipa filmed her “New Rules” music video. Kelly’s bridesmaids all lived out of state, so it was a really special morning to have all her friends in one place for such a special day. I always say an important reason to hire a planner is so that your friends and family are by your side laughing and relaxing, not dealing with setup and vendors. This was a prime example of a stress-free bridal party. The girls wore matching seafoam green floral robes and “iced” each other every chance they got.

Rob wore a sharp blue suit and vest which worked exceptionally well with The Confidante’s existing color scheme. He and his groomsmen got ready and took some shots to ease their nerves. Their boutonnieres from Designs by Darenda were mini pineapples with a couple leaves, wrapped in a blush ribbon.

Tashy Marie Makeup put the finishing touches on Kelly’s hair. Then, Kelly got into her Hayley Paige wedding dress with the help of her mom. Careful not to peek across the way where Rob was on the balcony with his groomsmen, Kelly looked out the bridal suite windows of The Confidante and soaked in her beautiful day. After a full week of storms, we weren’t sure if the weather would be on our side… but like I say, the easy-going, laid back, and trusting brides who don’t sweat the small stuff usually have weather that reflects their attitudes. Like Weather Karma. (I may have also did several no-rain superstitious practices prior). 

The ceremony took place on The Confidante Vista Terrace. It’s a private, elevated space that overlooks the entire property, with a nice breeze to make the Florida heat tolerable. Kelly and Rob opted to not have a first look, which made her walk down the aisle so much more special. The tropical vibe carried into the ceremony decor with real pineapples lining the aisle and a leaf structure to be married under. Kelly and Rob’s good friend, David, was the officiant. One of the easiest ways to personalize your ceremony is to have a friend or family member serve as your officiant, and it’s surprisingly very easy to  become ordained in the state of Florida. I spoke with David several times before the big day to answer any questions and to create something special for Kelly and Rob. Never having married anyone before, and not someone who gives talks in front of an audience (he later told me the last time he did something like this was in grade school for a school project), David gave the most heartfelt and funny ceremony that was perfect for this couple.

Guests were invited down to cocktail hour on Crown Terrace where there were some more unique touches. Consistent with the tropical theme, the escort cards were gold foil clam shells with the guest’s name and table assignment. They were alphabetized and laid in sand with some scattered pearls. Instead of a traditional guest book, the guests signed a note, rolled it up, and tied it with gold ribbon before placing it in a giant bottle for a “message in a bottle” beach vibe. As an added activity, the guests could write on blank Jenga pieces with either a truth or date for the bride and groom to complete next time they play.

Kelly and Rob walked around the rest of the property and got some fun shots before joining their guests.

Dinner was served in The Confidante century lounge, where the tables alternated with giant palm leaf centerpieces and low protea arrangements. Being HUGE Kanye West fans, Kelly and Rob walked in to “All of the Lights” before dancing to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”. Kelly and her dad then playfully danced to “Sweet Child of Mine” before Rob and his mom danced to his aunt singing, “Simple Man”. Rob’s sister made the wedding cake, a gorgeous marbled look with custom cake topper that included the whole (fur) family.

The afterparty began just steps away in the Crown Room. The Hora may or may not have caused the chandelier to sway. Triple P Entertainment had everyone dancing, with smoke effects, and multiple lighting setups. In the opposite room, an assortment of cake pops, and macarons were displayed. Kelly originally wasn’t sure how to include bits of her and Rob into her wedding. After hearing about how much they loved their pets, Franco, Didd, and Paco, I suggested she create FatHead props of them for the photos booth. Unsurprisingly, they were a hit the entire night, and later “greeted” their parents in the bridal suite.

…and no Kanye West fanatic’s wedding would be complete without some Yeezys.
