The Invitation: Alexa and Zach wanted their wedding to feel elegant, sophisticated, but still modern. Getting married at the Ritz Carlton Ft. Lauderdale was their first step in this direction, since the beachside venue offers contemporary fixtures of mirrors, geometric shapes, and a fully bedazzled chandelier. To tease guests into this one-of-a-kind venue, we designed wedding invites that were just as unique. Keeping with a gold, champagne, and blush color palette, we used vellum invites, to create a romantic transparent feel for something totally distinctive. We chose gold ink, with a hexagon pattern to compliment the beveled mirror in the ballroom. The vellum backer was a blush cardstock paper, to keep the entire design cohesive.
The Dress: cohesive.
The Wedding Party: We used Brideside concierge to assist with the bridesmaids dresses. Since the gals lived all over the country, this service was perfect because they could be shipped dresses to try on before finding the one they liked best. Alexa let her ladies choose varying styles and materials of dresses, as long as they fit the bush, champagne, beige, and gold color scheme. They even had matching silk robes and custom dress hangers!
The Welcome Bags: Since most of their guests were traveling from out of state, it was important for Alexa and Zach to let their guests know how grateful they were for attending their wedding. Each welcome bag was put together with the bride and groom’s favorite treats. Oh My Occasions created a custom poem to include with the bag so the guests knew exactly why each treat was special:
“Thanks for traveling to celebrate, This very special wedding date. Have a look at what’s inside, You’ll find treats from the groom and bride. Sour patch kids are Zach’s favorite treat. There’s also a salty snack for you to eat. In orange, of course, from the Sunshine State, a list of events so don’t be late! A bottle of champagne to start the fun, Some SPF in case you go in the sun. When you wake up post wedding and it hurts to look at the clock, Have some medicine from Alexa, the Doc. So have a drink and try a mint. Head over to the beach and leave your footprint. We’re so thankful you’re here wherever you’re from… Get ready for a Hell-er of a good time to come!”
Along with an itinerary card, Alexa and Zach made their guests feel comfortable and welcome as soon as they checked in!
The First Look & Portraits: Alexa first did a first look with her dad, whose reaction was the cutest! Next, we stationed Zach on the terrace while Alexa walked up behind him. As he turned to view his bride-to-be, his jaw literally dropped as he smiled and shouted, “Wow!” Their excitement to see each other was contagious and definitely helped to ease their nerves before ceremony. Their wedding party joined them for photos along A1A on Ft. Lauderdale beach, into the sand, and back to Ritz Carlton Ft. Lauderdale for some rum room shots!
