“Side by side with your loved one, you’ll find enchantment here”. You’ll find enchantment right here in our Lady and the Tramp inspired wedding. If you are a huge Disney fan, and want a Disney wedding, or more specifically, a Lady and the Tramp Wedding, look no further. We wanted to take the movie and mature it a bit, to fit adequately into a wedding setting. Appropriately title, “Bella Notte”, this wedding highlights an unconventional romance, paying homage to the Disney movie we all know and love. As the designer, it was important for me to embrace the classic story, without getting too kitschy or looking like a children’s party. That meant replacing the recognizable red and white picnic table cloth with a fitting sweetheart table that was truer to the time and love story we wanted to tell. I incorporated decor and design touches that had both feminine and masculine touches (just like the elegant Lady and the scruff Tramp). The lace paired with wood and vintage boxes created a softer feel. I wanted to play off the auburn and mahogany shades of the Disney female dog, so I opted for burgundy flowers combined withs softer blushes and full impact flowers. With a soft watercolor ambiance, and burst of deep reds brought together beautifully by Anthology Co. this Lady and the Tramp wedding takes a dreamy, more tender spin on puppy love. Vintro Hotel provides a quasi-authentic Italian café atmosphere, complete with overgrown bougainvillea. Instead of a messy spaghetti meal in the movie, we opted for delicious cannolis. Complete with bistro lighting, delicate floral centerpieces, a wine barrel table, and some delectable desserts to share, the mood was set for a night between a scruffy gentleman and his stylish lady. We mimicked the watercolor theme into the cake, cookies, and invitation for romantic cohesiveness. Unlike the meant-to-be fairytales or love stories you read about, the Bella Notte vignette showcases the contemporary affection between two dissimilar beings that had to defy the norms to be together and their impromptu adventures together and an intimate bond that forever unites their hearts. Their cake forks were stamped with Bella Notte to keep with the Lady and the Tramp wedding theme. Instead of a standard first look, we gave the couple the opportunity to have a first moment, complete with a mini picnic spread and champagne bottle with the custom phrase, “This Is Bella Notte”, translating to “beautiful night” in Italian. The bride wore a BHLDN two piece outfit, then changed into a sexy dress afterwards. The groom, fittingly, wore a gray suit, that wasn’t too fancy, since the Tramp is more of a “simplicity at its finest” type of guy. We wanted the photos to showcase a couple enjoying the little things in life: playful dollops of frosting on each others’ nose, hiding behind their parasol to steal a private kiss, and laughing on their wedding day.
