Terra Chic | An Earthy-meets-Modern, Clean and Natural Wedding

Inspired by the unique and organic sophistication of one of Miami’s most beautiful resorts, The 1 Hotel South Beach birthed a whole new creative process to showcase a natural, modern and elegant wedding weekend in one of the greatest places to have a destination wedding –Miami. Getting married at the 1 Hotel South Beach is the perfect location for a destination wedding in Miami. The organic venue embraces natural elements while still keeping very modernAs our feature is published on Wedding Chicks today, I am super excited to share this project. I was so blessed to partner and collaborate with some of the best talent in the South Florida industry, who gladly embraced everything that came after my uttering “I have this idea…”. Per typical Oh My Occasions process, I set out to embrace the unique, do what had never-been-done, and take risks in the most unusual places. This is how it all came together…

We achieved our cohesive vision by prioritizing the unique elements of the 1 Hotel South Beach and allowing those details to flow into a more personalized design.

The greenery wall in the lobby of the 1 Hotel South Beach provides a one-of-a-kind backdrop for your first look wedding photos!

If you’ve never had the chance to visit 1 Hotel South Beach, you’re immediately greeted by a greenery wall that is truly a work of art. If the smell of smooth sandalwood (and whatever else they have in that mesmerizing scent) doesn’t put you at immediate ease, the casual lobby lounge is sure to do it. Featuring driftwoods, glass terrariums, beige upholstery, and structured cedar elements, there’s an unusually natural yet clean cohesiveness about it. The 1 Hotel South Beach lobby features organic yet modern elements that perfectly complimented this wedding The 1 Hotel South Beach lobby features organic yet modern elements that perfectly complimented this wedding

During the design process, we made sure to feature easy-to-customize elements and a theme that would compliment the existing natural elements, so that any bride and groom could personalize as their own. We hand chose every detail of the decor and personal items to compliment the hotel’s existing raw elements by blending natural woods, loose greenery with crisp whites, marbles, and acrylic.

The invitation was a custom made folio from Ink and Elegance featuring a wood design cover mimicking the hotel lobby’s wood partitions. This unique wedding invitation features a resign or acrylic wedding invite with wood folio

The cork patterned heels were the perfect understated wood element, while we opted for a specially designed chain garter. Designing the florals was a task I trusted entirely to the visionary, RodriStudio. After meeting with him to design, I requested a rare and exclusive bouquet, that had “never been done before”! I wanted to anticipate a new trend, a way to take risks with otherwise traditional elements. The flowing “clutch bouquet” was created.
